I will be guest speaking at the Art Institute Inland Empire May 24th.

I am trying to go in new directions.

I have started taking some online courses to help grow not just as an artist, but to attain some highly valuable new skills. While taking the classes I have discovered that I want to try new thigns and go new places. Wish me luck and keep an eye out for my artwork to start changing...hopefully rather soon.

Anyone going to Photoshop World in Las Vegas this week?

I am looking forward to learning about the new Photoshop CS3 Extended, with the video capabilities. SHould be quite a few days of awesome information. Photoshop handling both video, 3D and sound is quite a jump for the program. Lynda.com has some awesome video tutorials but I am hoping that some real life instruction will be even more enlightening.

If you are going I hope to meet you there. I will also be attneding the special Birds of a Feather session thursday evening, if anyone from CG Society will be there I would like to say hello!

What have I been up to lately...too much!

I have not had more than maybe an hours worth of work on my CG Challenge lately. Siggraph last week, the Comic Con the week before that, and just super busy with other life stuff. There is a cool Art of Digital show in San Diego, the entry dead line is Sept 20th. Might head down to that.

I was selected for possible selection in a Cut N Paste contest (google Cut and Paste Contest and check out the LA section). Would have been awesome to compete, but hey at least I made the top 20 or so. I ended up backing out, I had already commited to volunteering at a Cancer Walk the weekend of the test run. The test run would select the top 8 people to compete in Oct in LA. I will probably make it to that too, if anyone will be there it should be a night of good photoshop fun and great design work.

ANyway went to the beach this weekend, got an unusual sun burn, I applied sun block to my own back and of course missed an entire mid section around the shoulders...you can actually see my finger/hand print where I couldn't reach any futher - I might as well have written geek on my back. At least I made sure I lathered up my son and my hubby - just didn't ask someone to spot me

Hopefully this weekend I will ge tto work on my challenge piece!
